Abstract

Occlusal splint is an accepted method of managing internal derangement of the temporomandibular joint. Some authors have evaluated the phenomenon of disc recapture in patients with clicking sound treated with the occlusal splint. There are no
data
published on the positional relationship of the disc and condyle in patients with closed lock(anterior disc displacement without reduction) treated with the occlusal splint. This paper is, therefore, intended to investigate the positional change
of
the
disc in the patients with closed lock before and after the occlusal splint therapy.
